XML News and Syndicated Data Formats
- NITF - News Industry Text Format
complex XML language designed for full-fledged news distribution
organizations. Very complex to implement in full, but it covers a large data
model that maps onto the complex use cases of a news syndicate such as United
Press, Reuters, etc.
A simplified News format
that separates the problem into two separate documents - a news article
description language, and a metadata description language (using RDF) for
describing properties about a news article.
- RSS -
Resource/Rich Site Summary
A simple data/web site syndication language
developed by Netscape to support syndication of MyNetscape resources. This is
now used widely by companies such as moreover.com, slashdot.org, userland.com, and The O'Reilly Network.
