Versions of HTML

The current "standard" version of HTML is called HTML 3.2. This standard reflects the standard behavior of most browsers.

However, there are several proprietary extensions by Netscape/Microsoft that do not work universally (i.e., on each other's products). YOu have to be aware of these.
