Chapter Index ~ Image Alignment Tests
Standards-based Values
Note that these are deprecated, and that you really should use CSS
stylesheets!
-
align="top" -- the top of the image should be vertically
aligned with the top of the line
-
align="middle" -- the middle of the image should be
vertically aligned with the baseline of the line.
-
align="bottom" -- the bottom of the image should be
vertically aligned with the baseline of the line. This is the
default alignment, should no value be specified
Proprietary Extensions
These are only supported by Internet Explorer 4+ and Navigator 4+.
-
align="texttop" -- Align the top of the image with the top
of the surrounding text, ignoring any other images that appear in
the same line.
-
align="absmiddle" -- align the middle of the image with
middle of the content of the surrounding line, including any images
that appear in the same line
-
align="baseline" -- align the bottom of the image with the
baseline of the surrounding text (this is equivalent to
align="bottom", but with clearer meaning)
-
align="absbottom" -- align the bottom of the image with the
bottom of the content of the surrounding line, including any images
that appear in the same line.
